Day 5 - Juice Journey

Day 5 29/05/14

Since our Tuesday night barbeque sabotaged our weight loss yesterday, we were more than pleased to hop on the scales today to discover we’ve lost a combined 1 stone! Lotto has flown past me by losing 9 pounds since Sunday, and I’ve lost just over 5. I have literally been trying to lose those pounds since the start of the New Year! Another 3 pounds and I’ll be under (something) stone!

My energy was brilliant again today. I’m typing this at 11pm and I am still wide awake, normally the light would be off by now! And I did my first bit of proper exercise this morning since starting the cleanse – on the first two days it was a minor miracle that I wasn’t falling over just standing up! I did a yoga class in the morning which revved me up for the day and cleared the cobwebs. Fairly certain I fell asleep in the relaxation.

I have to admit we’re enjoying taking some time out and just lying low this week. Lotto’s keeping himself busy to take his mind of his bread cravings, and my week has basically been centred by juice, work and sleep! The weekend is steadily approaching though, a.k.a my danger zone! Willpower, Terri. Willpower.

Food Diary

9:45am: apple, celery, cucumber, pineapple, lime (I haven’t managed to get any spinach since Saturday and I’m most peeved by this)

11:30am: carrot, apple, lemon, ginger

2:30pm: apple, raspberries, blueberries, grapes

5pm: carrot, apple, lemon, ginger

7pm: red & yellow pepper, red onion, cherry tomato and garlic soup (homemade)

9pm: avocado

Drinks: x2 tea, glass of milk, lemon tea

I’m glad I’ve incorporated a soup into the day, because I’m sure you’ll have noticed I don’t include much vegetables in my juices. They say to juice 80% vegetables and 20% fruit. I’ve epically failed on that part, but if I’d been drinking celery juice from the start, I’d be sitting here saying, “Diet? What diet? Oh yeah, that.”

A couple of people have asked if I’m following a plan – I go roughly by Jason Vale’s 7lbs in 7 days, however there’s a couple of recipes I’m not keen on so I just do ones I enjoy. If you haven’t read up on all things Jason Vale, do so! He is the juice guru – Also, I’d recommend for everyone to watch, “Fat, sick and nearly dead” – a documentary by Joe Cross, a man who juiced for 60 days, lost 6 stone and cured his auto immune disease. It really is inspiring stuff!
