Day 6 - Juice Journey

Day 6 30/05/14

For the first time, I had the urge to come off the cleanse today – 7 days is a long time to not indulge in the wonderful sensation of eating proper meals! (Okay, 6 days, I know I ate barbeque on Tuesday!) I started fantasising about what meal I would make us for our first night away from the cleanse. The possibilities are endless and I’ve changed my mind about 10 times: salad, cous cous – but chicken roast with a tonne of veg is a strong contender seen as it’s going to be a Sunday dinner. I’ll just leave out the wine, gallon of olive oil and Hagen Daz for pud!

But, then I realised all of the good things that have come from this experience.

I lost another pound today, meaning one more to go and I’ve lost half a stone. My waist is starting to make an appearance again as well as my collar bones, and the bum...well, that’s still massive! Plus, my skin was actually glowing today. It was moisturised, bright and my break out from last week has cleared up completely! My make up even went on better. Although I am still a bit up and down with my energy, there is no doubt that it is helping with my work during the day – but the only problem is, is that I can’t drift off to sleep like I used to!

My good results were slightly shadowed by the usual blimin headache, and after having two days without one it wasn’t welcome. I’m pretty annoyed myself at going back on the caffeine (2 cups of tea a day), at least if I had stuck to that I could have ruled out caffeine as a contributor. Although I know that my headaches derive mainly from my tight neck muscles, a part of me was hoping that changing my diet up would lessen them, but hey ho, back to the doctors I go!

Food Diary

9:30am: apple, celery, lime, pineapple, cucumber

11am: carrot, apple, ginger, lemon

12:15pm: banana

1:30pm: pear, pineapple, ginger

2:45pm: strawberry, raspberries, natural yoghurt, banana (smoothie)

4pm: red & yellow pepper, red onion, cherry tomato and garlic soup

7:30pm: butternut squash, red onion and garlic soup

10:15pm: chicken cuppa soup

I definitely needed more food today, I think not eating enough yesterday may have triggered today’s headache in the morning. You may be wondering about the late night cuppa soup. I am still wondering about that myself. Nope, nothing.
